Hollow drawing from a while ago. It’s supposed to be Fishbone D but I kind of drew him from memory/embellished a little bit.

I made a new mask for Anime Salt Lake last week. The mask is mostly paper mache and the eyes are painted on the back of glass hemispheres. They have a neat following effect too.

Here is all of the cosplay I’ve done so far. They’re essentially all works in progress being in a constant state of needing either improvement or repair.

For this assignment we were supposed to do a portrait of a musician or composer. I chose to do Shiro Sagisu. He’s composed the music for Evangelion, Bleach, and other anime as well some live action movies.

Experimenting with some paint and marbles. The paint manages to stick, but it’s pretty easy to scratch off, so I have to paint carefully. I used a pin and scratched a pattern into the paint on a few. On some I painted over the scratched pattern in a different color while others I left uncovered.

Full spheres have this crazy glow effect with a camera flash, but they look less vibrant than the hemispheres irl. The left sphere has the pupil painted on the closer surface. It looks sharper, but lacks the following illusion that painting the pupil on the back surface has. Unfortunately the full sphere warps and magnifies the back surface and causes the pupil to distort and disappear as the pupil appears to move to the edge. I won’t be using them for this project, but I’ll keep them in mind if I need pupil-less eyes.
